The RED Home Kit combines the tactical hemorrhage control supplies that NAR supplies to military and law enforcement with a comprehensive civilian first aid suite, in a single easy-to-recognize red case that can be staged in the home, garage, or vehicle.
The CoTCCC-recommended C-A-T® Tourniquet (Orange) is the kit's most critical item — it addresses the leading cause of preventable death in trauma: uncontrolled extremity hemorrhage. Studies from the Hartford Consensus and Stop the Bleed program consistently show that bystander tourniquet application before EMS arrival dramatically improves survival outcomes. The "Just In Time Bleeding Control Instructions" enable anyone — regardless of prior medical training — to apply the tourniquet correctly in an emergency. The two Responder Compressed Gauze rolls and two ETD™ 6-inch Emergency Trauma Dressings address non-extremity bleeding from wounds that cannot be tourniqueted.
