The American Heart Association and Stop the Bleed® program both recognize that cardiac arrest and life-threatening hemorrhage are the two most time-critical medical emergencies requiring bystander intervention. AED cabinets address cardiac arrest — but in many mass casualty incidents, active shooter events, and trauma emergencies, life-threatening hemorrhage kills before cardiac arrest occurs. Pairing an AED with a hemorrhage control kit in the same cabinet location creates a comprehensive public-safety station that addresses both threats simultaneously.
The TACMED Stop the Bleed® AED Kit is engineered for exactly this application. Developed by Special Operations Medics at Tactical Medical Solutions, it contains the minimum necessary components for effective bystander hemorrhage control: the SOF® Tourniquet (the official tourniquet of the American Red Cross®, designed for one-handed self-application), a Compact Trauma Bandage® for wound coverage and pressure application, Compressed Gauze for wound packing in non-tourniquet-applicable wounds, and a pair of nitrile gloves for rescuer protection.
The entire kit is sealed in a resealable waterproof pouch that maintains component sterility and protection. The compact form factor is designed to fit inside standard AED wall cabinets alongside any AED — including the ZOLL AED 3, ZOLL AED Plus, and Philips HeartStart OnSite — without requiring a separate storage solution.
