The Thermal Transfusion Set–Blood (TTS-B, NAR item 35-0005) is the QUANTUM system's primary blood and fluid warming tubing set, cleared for whole blood, blood products (including FDP), colloids, and isotonics. At 2.7 oz, the 80-in set warms blood from 39°F to 100.4°F (38°C ± 2°C) in 24 seconds at up to 100 mL/min — with no disruption to fluid path laminar flow and without requiring an additional standard transfusion set.

Product Overview
The TTS-B is the critical consumable that makes the QUANTUM Blood & Fluid Warming System work for blood transfusion. Unlike conventional blood warming approaches that require both an IV set and a warming device with its own tubing, the TTS-B is the IV administration tubing and the warming element in one. The heating element is double-extruded between the inner and outer walls of the tubing — completely separated from the fluid path — so blood or IV fluid never contacts the heating element, ensuring no thermal damage, no flow disruption, and no contamination risk.
Thermistors embedded at multiple points along the tubing length continuously report temperature to the QUANTUM Controller, which dynamically adjusts power from the 44V battery to maintain target output temperature at the patient end of the line. This intelligent, distributed monitoring approach means the system responds to real-time changes in flow rate, input blood temperature, and ambient conditions — maintaining consistent warming performance regardless of field variables.
The TTS-B is cleared for whole blood, packed red blood cells, freeze-dried plasma reconstituted product, colloids, and isotonic crystalloids — making it the single tubing set required for any blood product warming application with the QUANTUM. Setup is identical to a standard blood infusion tubing set. Each pack contains 2 TTS-B sets (item 35-0005), allowing two blood transfusion events per pack, or serving as a primary and backup on a single transfusion mission.
