Built from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), this plate provides the same fundamental ballistic protection mechanism as higher-priced PE plates: PE fiber laminates absorb and decelerate incoming projectiles through fiber stretching and delamination, preventing penetration.
UHMWPE is the dominant material for lightweight standalone rifle plates because it provides the best ballistic performance per unit weight of any structural armor material.
